About Ty Strayhorn

My name is Tynika, but most people call me Ty. I am the mother of two amazing daughters, one son-in-love, and grandmother to three awesome grandchildren who light up my world. I have worked in public education for over 25 years with some of the most underserved children in Maryland and Virginia. I love being an educator, and I love learning and teaching others what I have learned.

 

I have known since 2000 I wanted to join the world of real estate. At 26, I was a second year fourth grade teacher, and I bought my first townhome. My Realtor® was amazing! She was retiring from the federal government and real estate was going to be her retirement career. After a great experience with her, I immediately knew what I wanted to do when I finished my career as an educator~become a real estate agent and help people find homes! 

 

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in fourth grade and while I no longer teach young children, I continue learning and teaching clients all about home renting, investing, and home buying or selling. Learning is important to me, and real estate keeps me learning so I can continue to do what I love ~ teach.  It is a great experience to watch clients learn the real estate process and accomplish their real estate goals.
